Our mission is to transform lives by interrupting cycles of neglect, abuse, and abandonment of children in the foster care system.
“Every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story.”
About Us
Royal Family KIDS was founded in 1985. It was started in Southern California by Wayne & Diane Tesch who wanted to serve the foster care population through a summer camp ministry experience. The natinoal organization is now known as For The Children and mobilizes the local church to host Royal Family KIDS Camp and Mentoring programs for children who have experienced relational trauma.
Royal Family KIDS Littleton is one of 250 RFK chapters around the world and has been operating and serving foster children in the Littleton area since 2009.
Values & Strategy.
Values
Treat People Royally.
We treat every person - especially the children in our programs - with the dignity, respect, and care they deserve as people made in the image of God. We create an environment where children experience the royal treatment they deserve, helping them understand their true worth.
Make Moments Matter.
We believe every interaction is an opportunity to create lasting positive memories. We intentionally design each moment, knowing that small acts of kindness and attention can have profound impacts on a child's life.
Keep Moving Forward.
We maintain unwavering hope and persistence in serving the children in our programs, acknowledging that progress isn't always linear. We're committed to growth, learning from challenges, and continuously improving our approach.
T.B.R.I.
Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI is particularly effective for children who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect.
TBRI is based on three core principles:
Empower: Address physical needs
Connect: Build trusting relationships
Correct: Teach self-regulation and appropriate behaviors
“Children from hard places have learned to survive, but we want to teach them to thrive.”
